even more, with the breadth of its distribution and readership network,
it unified many areas where readers of the journal used to live and
still do. These are mostly Serbs, but also members of other South Slavic
and Slavic peoples, as well as scientists – Serbists,
Yugoslavist, and Slavicists, as well as translators, but
also people interested in Serbian literature and culture. Such readers
of the journal are most often found within the 19th century

Serbia, the Principality / Kingdom of Montenegro, the Turkish / Ottoman
Empire, Russia, France, Switzerland, Germany and other countries.
Likewise, Letopis reached many scientific institutions with which
Matica Srpska exchanged its publications, while such type of
communication was started with the Russian Academy of Sciences from
Petrograd in 1832. Over time, during the 20th and 21st
centuries, a very extensive exchange system was built with numerous
literary, scientific, and professional centers, as well as with many
national, university and institute libraries around the world, with
which
, through its
,
has been exchanging publications.
We are talking about cultural and scientific institutions which
continuously express interest in Serbian literature, science and
culture, and this communication includes not only a multitude of
European, but also of non-European countries and cultures. In addition
to this availability of the journal in its paper edition, since 2005
Letopis of Matica Srpska has been available on the website of
Matica Srpska, thus significantly expanding its readership around
the world.
