Since its very inception, Letopis has tightly connected several cities and cultural centers, such as:

. Editing and printing of the journal has been conducted in the following manner:
  • ·editing in Novi Sad, printing in Buda (1824-1830);
  • ·editing in Pest, printing in Buda (1831-1834; 1838-1850; 1854-1863);
  • ·editing and printing in Pest (1837-1838);
  • ·editing in Vienna, printing in Buda (1850-1854);
  • ·editing in Sremski Karlovci, printing in Novi Sad (1929-1930; 1936);
  • ·while by far the longest period was the one during which both editing and printing took place in Novi Sad (1865-1929; 1931-1935; since 1936 until today).
Throughоut its publication, editing and printing, Letopis interconnected several national cultural centers, and even more, with the breadth of its distribution and readership network, it unified many areas where readers of the journal used to live and still do. These are mostly Serbs, but also members of other South Slavic and Slavic peoples, as well as scientists – Serbists, Yugoslavist, and Slavicists, as well as translators, but also people interested in Serbian literature and culture. Such readers of the journal are most often found within the 19th century Austrian / Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Principality / Kingdom of Serbia, the Principality / Kingdom of Montenegro, the Turkish / Ottoman Empire, Russia, France, Switzerland, Germany and other countries. Likewise, Letopis reached many scientific institutions with which Matica Srpska exchanged its publications, while such type of communication was started with the Russian Academy of Sciences from Petrograd in 1832. Over time, during the 20th and 21st centuries, a very extensive exchange system was built with numerous literary, scientific, and professional centers, as well as with many national, university and institute libraries around the world, with which
, through its
, has been exchanging publications.

We are talking about cultural and scientific institutions which continuously express interest in Serbian literature, science and culture, and this communication includes not only a multitude of European, but also of non-European countries and cultures. In addition to this availability of the journal in its paper edition, since 2005 Letopis of Matica Srpska has been available on the website of Matica Srpska, thus significantly expanding its readership around the world.
