Aleksandar Tišma, academician, poet, writer, essayist, writer (Horgoš, Bačka, 1924-Novi Sad, 2003). One of the most important Serbian writers of the 20th century. Books of short stories (Guilts, Violence, Return to the Peace, The School of Godlessness, etc.), novels (After a Black-Haired Girl, The Book of Blam, Use of Man, The Capo, etc.). He was in the Editorial Board of Letopis from 1961 to 1969. For many years (from 1953, vol. 372/3) he ran the column ‘Browsing through Journals’. He was the editor-in-chief from 1969 to 1974, and during that time the journal began to develop primarily as a literary review.
