Teodor Pavlović, lawyer, publisher, publicist (Karlovo/Miloševo, Banat, 1804–Karlovo, 1854). He was the secretary of
(1832–1847), editor of Letopis from 1832 to 1841. He published his translations in Letopis (Voltaire, Schiller, later Gellert, Horacije, etc.). From the legacy of Mihail Vitković, he publishes his poems. Pavlović's notes dominated the section ‘Smesice’, the topics are Slovenian and Serbian: about Ruthenian folk songs and riddles, about new Croatian literary works (J. Derkos, Lj. Gaj). He actually communicates news from various Slavic literature and sources. Letopis opened the door to the influence of folk poetry, the nationalization of Serbian literature and romantic tendencies in it. He renewed the work of Matica Srpska (officially banned at the time of Bach's absolutism) and managed to arrange its financial situation. In addition to editing Letopis, he started the Serbski narodni list (1835–1848), the Serbske narodne novine (1838–1848) and the Dragoljub almanac (1845–1847). He was one of the most significant figures in Serbian culture and literature of his time.
